    Customer Reviews:
    Samsung HT-Q40
I purchased this product from a local electronics store because the price was good and the product looks great with features I was looking for,(I.E. 5 disc changer) however I had to purchase it twice because the first model would NOT play DVD’s, only CD’s, so I returned it for another of the same model and now this one has problems too, it sticks and skips while “playing” DVD’s to which there seems to be no ryme or reason, it’s very random, even after trying different DVD’s thinking a scratched DVD was the problem, it however was NOT, it’s SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!

One other disappointment is the time it takes to load a CD or DVD, there seems to be a 15 to 20 second delay before the machine responds.

On the up side it puts out good picture quality and sounds great, my sofa even vibrates when the bass hits during action movies and the radio bass can be felt anywhere in my house.

    Wonderful Product
We are thoroughly enjoying the surround sound for movies on this item.

we would like to know how to connect these speakers to the televison set in order to receive the sound through the speakers from the home theater system. any suggestions?

other than that, the sound is fantastic for dvd’s, radio, music cd’s and dvd’s. thanks so much also for the swift service. it was here in no time. everything was there, no complaints. gloria

    Pros: Attractive

    Great picture.

Cons: Hard to hear or understand the dialog on a DVD unless the front speakers are within 6″ of your ears, so you turn up the volume. Then if there are background noises on the DVD like a car door slamming ect. the “noise” is excessively loud and annoying time after time. So you turn the volume down to avoid the “louder” noise, then can’t hear the dialog.

You can adjust the L-R on the speakers but the volume cannot be adjusted so the front speakers put out less volume than the rears.

With the exception of the sub woofer, the speakers are “tinny”

The remote is poorly designed and has a feature to operate your television also. When used to turn the TV off, it shuts off but then comes back on again after a second or two.

If you want to memorize a spot on “two or more” discs to return to, its impossible. It will remember “one” disc only.

How this unit ever got passed on to the buying public is a mystery to me.

    Nice, inexpensive surround sound
very inexpensive HTIB, but for the price I was impressed with the sound I got from it.

    Pros:

    1. Setup is extemely easy.

    2. Powerful sound..I have mine set up in a room that’s about 30X15. But

we use one half of the area as the TV viewing area, so the surround sound field is about 15X15. With that said I cannot put the volume past 27 (goes to 50) without blowing out a eardrum.

    3. The subwoofer works well. I can feel the sofa vibrating.

    4. The speakers are pretty adequate and give out a nice sound.

    5. You can adjust the volume for rear speakers, front speakers and center.

    Cons:

    1. The remote buttons are a bit small

    2. It only has pre-set equalization. Doesn’t matter to me for movies, but I would have liked it for the radio.

    3. Even though it has a usb port on it, it does not read all mp3 players, specifically it won’t read my ipod.

If your looking for a nice inexpensive HTIB I would recomend this to anyone.
